Basket 4kids Zielona Góra wins the U16 tournament

The third tournament in the U16 category was hosted by the Polish city of Zielona Góra. After tough battles, the home team Basket 4kids Zielona Góra won.

In the first match of the tournament, the home team Basket 4kids Zielona Góra challenged the Ukrainian team SCC Ploskyriv to a duel. The Ukrainian team looked somewhat tired after the long journey and was already losing significantly in the score after the first quarter. The home team had a fairly easy path to its first victory in the tournament. MBK Karlovka Bratislava fought in the next match of the day with one of the highest quality youth programs in Poland PGE Spójnia Stargard . Karlovka did not shy away from the opponent and after the third quarter the difference in the score was only two points. Stargard's experience finally showed and, despite Karlovka's resistance, they won by ten points. In the last match of the first round, the Czech team Vlci Žďár nad Sázavou were comparable to the German precision of Academy Potsdam team until half of the match. In the second half of the match, they already found a recipe for defending the German team and won a comfortable victory. Friday afternoon offered more dramatic matches, as the home team had to fight hard for victory against Stargard, which they eventually succeeded in. The match between Ploskiryv and Ždár was also great to watch, with the Czech team rejoicing in victory.

Saturday morning offered a surprise right in the first match. After the break, the Ukrainian team "caught Stargard on the back foot", having been the better team throughout the match. Karlovka also proved that it is no coincidence that they are in the tournament when they played a really great game with the home team. The home team could not rest for a moment and constantly repelled the attacks of the Slovak team, which was fighting for victory. Although they did not succeed, they still left a positive impression of their game. The home team also had another dramatic match, this time against Ždár. The Wolves enter the match poorly, but halfway through the match, a promising result is shown on the scoreboard for the Czech team. After the third quarter, everything is different again and the Czech team loses twenty points. In the last quarter, the Czech team has a huge desire for victory, but in the end they lose by a difference of five points.

On Sunday, Ploskiryv won over a well-playing Karlovka and thanks to that they also get second place in the tournament due to a better mutual match with Stargard. Stargard defeated the Wolves in the Sunday match, disappointed with the loss to the home team, and thus won the bronze medals. The tournament is closed by the home team, which clearly confirms its victory in the home tournament against the German Potsdam.

MKS Basket Szczawno Zdrój wins the U15 tournament

$rc->blogDescription

MKS Basket Szczawno Zdrój wins the U15 tournament

The sixth U15 tournament took place in the Polish city of Zgorzelec. The players played in a modern hall for more than 3,500 spectators, which was certainly an interesting experience for them. The tournament offered so many changes that even before the last match it was not clear who would occupy the medal positions.

In the first match of the tournament, the home team PGE Giek Turów Zgorzelec played against the eventual winner of the tournament MKS Basket Szczawno Zdrój . And they were the only team in the tournament to beat them, by a margin of almost twenty points. In the second match, we could watch the duel of Czech teams, specifically BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice and Sokol Pražský . The Pardubice "Beksa", which is a little closer to Zgorzelec than the "Sokolíci", seemed fresher along the way and won a fairly comfortable victory by a margin of more than twenty points. In the next match, the younger home team, which completed the tournament due to the absence of one of the German teams, bravely resisted a more advanced opponent, who also came from Germany, namely the HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim team. The inexperience of the home team was evident and the "Magicians" had a relatively easy path to victory.

On Saturday morning, the "Sokolík" team played an even match with the Polish team MKS Basket Szczawno Zdrój . After the first quarter, the "Sokolík" team leads by several points, then the game is even. The Sokolík team has problems with the combined defense of the Polish team and eventually loses the match by a difference of eight points. Another team that fell into the "joints" of the Polish team's zone defense was "Beksa". This type of defense, which is practically not encountered in the domestic competition, forced them to many losses, which the Polish opponent took full advantage of and won by a difference of twelve points. This greatly confused the table, since the three teams have a balance of four wins and one defeat. So Sunday's program promised some nice drama.

And that's what happened. First, the sleepy "Beksa" gambled with its position in the table for half of the game, losing to the magicians from Crailsheimu . The enthusiastic German team confirmed its quality and gave the Czech team a good beating. Finally, "Beska" recovered and confirmed its paper expectations. Now it had to wait until the last game between the "Sokolíky" and the home team, since only a loss for the Czech team would ensure victory in the tournament. The Sokolíky, on the other hand, had to win over the home team in order to win the bronze medals. In the meantime, however, a game was played between the younger home team and the eventual winner MKS Basket Szczawno Zdrój . Now for the last game of the tournament, which offered everything you can expect from basketball. Drama, twists, great performances, sadness, tears and great joy. In the first half of the match, the Sokols suffered from a large number of personal fouls, which the referees "rewarded" them with. Even under this pressure, the result was almost even in the middle of the match. The third quarter was not good for the Czech team, and after it the home team, which was playing actively and euphorically, was enjoying a seventeen-point lead. It seemed that the decision was made. A completely different Sokol Pražský, which was already playing weakened by some players due to personal fouls. You could say "a bench revolt", the players are fighting for their lives and in the final minute and a half before the end they take the lead for the first time. Another whistle from the referee almost sent them to their knees, another personal foul, another "fouled" player and there are only four players available for the game. I don't think even the players know how they managed to defend the home team's superiority in euphoria and thanks to a win by just one point, they can celebrate winning the bronze medals. The home team is sad about winning the "potato medals". This win by the "Falcons" pushed "Beksa" to second place in the tournament, thanks to a worse match with the Polish team MKS Basket Szczawno Zdrój .

Final tournament standings:

1. MKS Basket Szczawno Zdrój (Poland)

2. BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice (Czech Republic)

3. Sokol Pražský (Czech Republic)

4. PGE Giek Turów Zgorzelec (Poland)

5. HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim (Germany)

6. PGE Giek Turów Zgorzelec 'B' (Poland)

The following players received individual awards:

MVP:

Piotr Resiak ( MKS Basket Szczawno Zdrój )

All-star team:

Tobiáš Tulis ( BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice )

Adam Horčička ( Sokol Pražský )

Mateusz Sawicki ( PGE Giek Turów Zgorzelec )

Mika Rossmanith ( HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim )

Alan Furmański ( PGE Giek Turów Zgorzelec 'B' )

Top scorer of the tournament:

Piotr Resiak ( MKS Basket Szczawno Zdrój ) - 135 points (27.0 points per game)

BC Uzhhorod wins U14 tournament

$rc->blogDescription

BC Uzhhorod wins U14 tournament

The seventh tournament of the U14 category took place in the Slovak city of Pezinok. The Ukrainian team BC Uzhhorod won the tournament. However, they had to fight hard for their position.

In the first match, the home team BK Pezinok measured their strength with the German team Basketball Talents Potsdam . After a balanced first quarter, the home team took the match firmly into their own hands and won a relatively clear victory. The second match on Friday's program offered a Czech derby between the teams BCM Olomouc and Fastav Zlín . It was a great derby. Olomouc built a twenty-point lead during the first three quarters, but in the end they faced a strong onslaught from Zlín and eventually won by eight points. In the third match, the Ukrainian team BC Uzhhorod entered the tournament and their opponent was the German team NINERS Chemnitz Academy . The whole match was very balanced and after a great fight for every ball, the Ukrainian team won its first win in the tournament. On Friday's program, the home team also played a good match with Olomouc, although after the first quarter it looked like a clear matter for the Olomouc team. The home team showed great effort to dramatize the match in the rest of the match, which they succeeded in doing. However, they did not find the strength to turn things around and lost by five points.

Olomouc played a thrilling match with Uzhhorod on Saturday. They started badly and spent the entire match closing the gap on the Ukrainian team. They failed to turn the tables and Uzhhorod thus gained another difficult victory. The duel between the teams from Potsdam and Zlín also offered interesting moments. Potsdam had a lead of almost twenty points at half-time, but still managed to lose the match by a margin of seventeen points. However, this certainly does not diminish the heroic performance of Zlín, which demonstrated such a great turnaround in the score.

On Sunday, Potsdam, which did not win a single game at the tournament, showed that it is not just a coincidence at our tournaments when it showed a great performance against the later Ukrainian winner. Uzhhorod worked hard to win this match and the tournament. Chemnitz sweated hard with Olomouc for three quarters and the Czech team stayed within striking distance after the third quarter. In the last quarter, Olomouc took a risk and tried to turn the game in their favor, but they failed and thus won bronze. Chemnitz wins silver medals thanks to this win. In the last match, the home team Pezinok was not enough for the Czech team from the city of shoemakers - Fastav Zlín .

Final tournament standings:

1. BC Uzhhorod (Ukraine)

2. NINERS Chemnitz Academy (Germany)

3. BCM Olomouc (Czech Republic)

4. Fastav Zlín (Czech Republic)

5. BK Pezinok (Slovakia)

6. Basketball Talents Potsdam (Germany)

The following players received individual awards:

MVP:

Maksym Svyda ( BC Uzhhorod )

All-star team:

Konrad Jacob ( NINERS Chemnitz Academy )

Jonáš Růžička ( BCM Olomouc )

David Hrubý ( Fastav Zlín )

Viktor Kurák ( BK Pezinok )

Julian Bartels ( Basketball Talents Potsdam)

Top scorer of the tournament:

Maksym Svyda ( BC Uzhhorod ) - 126 points (25.2 points per game)

AK Orly Wroclaw is the clear winner of the U13 tournament

AK Orly Wroclaw is the clear winner of the U13 tournament

The seventh tournament of the U13 category took place in Ostrava. The Polish team AK Orly Wroclaw won unequivocally. In all matches, the Polish team won by more than thirty points. This confirms the dominance with which it acted in this tournament.

In the first match, the home team Academy NH Ostrava played a duel with the BA Young Diamonds academy. The home team entered the match very actively and did not give the Young Diamonds a chance to think about winning. In the second match, the eventual winner of the tournament AK Orly Wroclaw faced another Polish team Oknoplast Inter-Bud Kraków . Wroclaw did not play nice with Krakow at all and by the middle of the match there was no doubt about the winner. The most dramatic match of the tournament took place in the third match. The players in this match were the Slovak team MBK Karlovka Bratislava and the Polish team Lublinianka KUL Basketball . It later turned out that it was a match for fifth place in the tournament. But the passion and commitment of the teams in the match made it seem like they were fighting for the overall victory. Anyway, Karlovka entered the match poorly, but by the middle of the match they took a few points lead. However, Lublinianka took control and after the third quarter the match was even. The ending was better for Karlovy Vary and they managed to squeeze out a two-point win.

Saturday's match did not offer many close matches. An interesting feature of all the matches was that one of the teams always missed the opportunity to enter the match and only in the case of the BA Young Diamonds academy in the duel with Oknoplast Inter-Bud Kraków did such a team subsequently win the match. With this victory, BA Young Diamonds laid the foundation for winning the bronze medals.

On Sunday, Wroclaw confirmed their gold medal win by defeating Lublinianka. Karlovka held off the Young Diamonds academy for half an hour, who confirmed their bronze medal win with a win. And in the last match, the home team defeated Krakow with a quality performance and won the silver medal.

Final tournament standings:

1. AK Orly Wroclaw (Poland)

2. Academy NH Ostrava (Czech Republic)

3. BA Young Diamonds (Czech Republic)

4. Oknoplast Inter-Bud Kraków (Poland)

Gromy Nowy Tomyśl the winner of the U14 tournament

$rc->blogDescription

Gromy Nowy Tomyśl the winner of the U14 tournament

The sixth tournament of the U14 category took place in the Polish city of Nowy Tomyśl. And the home team was also the one that won the championship in this tournament.

The home team Gromy Nowy Tomyśl entered the tournament with a duel with the Slovak team Nitra Blue Wings Academy . The home team gained a slight lead of three points after the first quarter, but then lost it in the second quarter and Nitra took a two-point lead. In the second half of the match, the home team really "pedaled" and won by fifteen points. In the second match, there was a duel between two teams from the Polish city of Wroclaw, namely AK Orly Wroclaw and WKK Wroclaw . Orly did not treat their fellow countryman at all and defeated him by a significant margin. The next match on Friday was between the Czech teams BK Gapa Hradec Králové and BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice . Hradec Králové won the first half, in the second half "Beksa" entered a higher performance level and finally won by seventeen points. On Friday, the home team played a close game against another Polish team, Orly, who took a one-point lead in the first half. In the second half, the lead shifted to the home team, who won by eleven points.

On Saturday, the team from Hradec Králové played its best performance of the tournament. After Friday's win, WKK did not even scare the home favorite and really overwhelmed him. At halftime, the difference was only one point, and in the end, thanks to a few minor mistakes, Hradec Králové lost by six points in the final. In the next match, Nitra played with fate in a duel with WKK. After the third quarter, they led by almost twenty points and in the end, they defended the victory in the match by six points.

On Sunday, Hradec Králové, mainly due to a bad start to the match, gave the win to Nitra, who thus won the bronze medals. In the second match, AK Orly Wroclaw thoroughly overtook Beksa from Pardubice. Beksa set the pace of a donkey in this match rather than the racehorse it is known for, allowing the Orly to comfortably confirm the silver medals. In the last match of the tournament, the home team confirmed the gold medals thanks to a win over WKK Wroclaw team. The order for fourth to sixth place had to be decided again by a mini-table of three teams. Here, Beksa had the best score from mutual matches, followed by Hradec Králové, and the order is closed WKK Wroclaw .

Final tournament standings:

1. Gromy Nowy Tomyśl (Poland)

2. AK Orly Wroclaw (Poland)

3. Nitra Blue Wings Academy (Slovakia)

4. BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice (Czech Republic)

5. BK Gapa Hradec Králové (Czech Republic)

NINERS Chemnitz Academy wins U17 tournament

$rc->blogDescription

NINERS Chemnitz Academy wins U17 tournament

The second tournament of the U17 category took place in Brandýs nad Labem. The winner of the tournament was the German team NINERS Chemnitz Academy. However, the teams Vienna Timberwolves and Weegree AZS Opole in particular made a great effort to make the German team's path to the "gold" as difficult as possible.

In the first match, the home team BK Brandýs nad Labem played against the Polish team Weegree AZS Opole . Brandýs did not enter this match very successfully from the beginning, losing nine points after the first quarter. The Polish team increases the lead in the following period and thus easily wins. The second match between Vienna Timberwolves and NINERS Chemnitz Academy was one of the imaginary highlights of the tournament. After the first quarter, the Vienna team led by several points, after the second Chemnitz gained a small lead, after the third quarter the score was almost equal. The German team showed more energy in the last quarter and deservedly won. The match was full of great fights, beautiful shots, great defense and good individual performances. The third match of the day was the fight between the Polish team TS Wisla Jura Basket and the German team SC Weende . And again a very even match, every ball was fought for and in the end the Polish team won the match by a single basket. The first day already indicated that we have two performance baskets in the tournament. The first group of advanced teams, which includes Chemnitz, Vienna and Opole. The second group, which is only growing in performance, which includes Branýs, TS Wisla Jura Basket and SC Weende .

Saturday morning offered a duel between Opole and Vienna, this match, as it later turned out, was a match for silver or bronze in this tournament. Once again, we could watch great youth basketball with great commitment. Vienna built a small lead right at the beginning of the match and, despite Opole's great efforts, kept it until the end of the match and won. Home team Brandýs also played two even matches, losing the first half to TS Wisla, but with increased activity in the second half they won by six points. In the second match, Brandýs challenged the German team SC Weende. The picture of the match was very similar to the morning match, a bad start by Brandýs and subsequently an improved performance in the second half of the match and a win this time by eleven points. Also worth mentioning is the match between Opole and Chemnitz, which offered the highest quality youth basketball. Opole surprised the German team in the beginning with a great defense and a very effective performance in the attack. Thanks to this, Opole took a six-point lead at halftime. After the half-time meeting, a completely new Chemnitz came on, suddenly the court was full of its players, effective finishing was replaced by great defense. After the third quarter, Opole still had a chance to do something with the game, as they were only losing by eight points, but the euphoric Chemnitz completely broke the will of the Opole players and eventually won by twenty-seven points. And that's why basketball is so beautiful, it is played with maximum commitment until the last minute and the game is not decided until the final whistle of the referee.

On Sunday, the "first three" teams confirm their medal positions and defeat the "second three" teams by higher margins. So we can summarize that Chemnitz wins gold, Vienna silver and the team from Opole can rejoice in bronze.

Final tournament standings:

1. NINERS Chemnitz Academy (Germany)

2. Vienna Timberwolves (Austria)

3. Weegree AZS Opole (Poland)

4. BK Brandýs nad Labem (Czech Republic)

5. TS Wisla Jura Basket (Poland)

6. SC Weende (Germany)

The following players received individual awards:

MVP:

Tim Luca Schäfer ( NINERS Chemnitz Academy )

All-star team:

Louis Pichler ( Vienna Timberwolves )

Borys Kałasznik ( Weegree AZS Opole )

Kamil Kupčík ( BK Brandýs nad Labem )

Danyjil Sosnowski ( TS Wisla Jura Basket )

Juri Sorhage ( SC Weende)

Top scorer of the tournament:

Danyjil Sosnowski ( TS Wisla Jura Basket ) - 93 points (18.6 points per game)

AK Orly Wroclaw wins the U12 tournament

$rc->blogDescription

AK Orly Wroclaw wins the U12 tournament

The third tournament in the U12 category was hosted by the Polish city of Katowice. The Polish team AK Orly Wroclaw showed the best performance and deservedly won gold medals.

The tournament offered an unconventional schedule of matches due to the situation, so the home team did not play in the first match. The pair for the first match is made up of the Polish teams AK Orly Wroclaw and Polonia Varšava . The Orly enter the tournament in full force and do not give the team from the Polish capital any chance to think about winning. The second match offered a dramatic Slovak derby. The authors of this drama are the teams Strojár Malacky and BSC Bratislava . Malacky is significantly losing the entire first half of the match. During the half-time break, the coach apparently poured "holy water" on them in a meeting, because how else can we explain that a completely different team entered the game, which in the end squeezed out a win by two points. The fans saw the home team NEFROMEDICA UKS SP27 Katovice in the third match of the tournament. They challenged "Beks" or, more officially, the Czech team BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice to a duel. The home team entered the game well and built a double-digit lead, but Beska started to "ride" from the second quarter and galloped to victory by twenty-five points.

On Saturday, the home team scored three wins over BSC, Malacky and Warsaw. Beksa, who had a desire to win a medal position, won wins over Warsaw and Malacky, but the match with Orly did not go as expected. They lost this match, having been several points behind the Polish team from the beginning of the match and eventually losing by a difference of fifteen points.

On Sunday, Beksa first defeats BSC and confirms the silver medal. In the second match of the day between Malacky and Warsaw, a dramatic battle for fourth place took place, where it was decided only in overtime. The Slovak team won by a single point. The players were very happy about it. The tournament was closed by a battle between the home team and the teams from Wrocław, after the first quarter it seemed that the Eagles were clearly going for victory, gaining a double-digit lead. However, Katowice did not give up and at halftime the scoreboard showed a result with a difference of only one point. However, the second half was dominated by the AK Orly Wroclaw team, condemning the home team NEFROMEDICA UKS SP27 Katovice to the bronze medal. In the event of a home team win, the mini-table of three teams (Katowice, Wrocław and Pardubice) would have to decide and every point in the score would be decisive, but this did not happen and AK Orly Wroclaw won gold.

Final tournament standings:

1. AK Orly Wroclaw (Poland)

2. BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice (Czech Republic)

3. NEFROMEDICA UKS SP27 Katovice (Poland)

4. Strojár Malacky (Slovakia)

5. Polonia Varšava (Poland)

6. BSC Bratislava (Slovakia)

The following players received individual awards:

MVP:

Filip Janczak ( AK Orly Wroclaw )

All-star team:

Mikuláš Jandík ( BK VIVIDBOOKS Pardubice )

Leon Pyzik ( NEFROMEDICA UKS SP27 Katovice )

Bruno Jurkovič ( Strojár Malacky )

Marek Biernat ( Polonia Varšava )

Lukáš Kresánek ( BSC Bratislava)

Top scorer of the tournament:

Jakub Kadlečík ( Strojár Malacky ) - 69 points (13.8 points per game)

In the opening match, the home team UKS MOS Opole did not play nice at all with another newcomer to our tournaments, the German academy VR Bank Würzburg Akademie. The home team literally swept the German academy by a margin of more than forty points. The second match offered a Czech derby between the teams Basketpoint Frýdek-Místek and Snakes Ostrava . These teams certainly know each other well due to their geographical proximity. In this match, the "snakes" slightly strangle Basketpoint's ambitions and thanks to this they win by a margin of eight points. In the last match, the teams ŠBK Galaxy Košice and AK Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski enter the tournament. Košice enter the match actively and score a small lead. Basket Poděbrady wins the U13 tournament

The fourth tournament in the U13 category was hosted by the Polish city of Wroclaw. The first place in the tournament was won by the Czech team Basket Poděbrady, which is a newcomer to CEYBL tournaments, but immediately laid a good foundation for participation in the final tournament.

In the first match of the tournament, the home team WKK Wroclaw challenged the Ukrainian team BC Uzhhorod to a duel. WKK did not enter the match well and lost by a double-digit margin after the first quarter. They were unable to close the Ukrainian team's lead throughout the match and lost by a margin of twelve points. In the second match, the Slovak team ŠBK Galaxy Košice competed for victory with the Polish team PGE Giek Turów Zgorzelec . The Polish team, whose first team also played in the Euroleague in its most famous period, did not enter the match ideally and lost by a margin of ten points after the first quarter. They came within striking distance in the middle of the match, but that was all for them and the Slovak team won its first victory in the CEYBL tournaments. The third match offered very high-quality mini-scholarship basketball, in Czech style. The Central Bohemian team Basket Poděbrady played a close match with the Moravian-Silesian team Basketpoint Frýdek-Místek . This match offered a great basketball spectacle, where the team from Poděbrady ultimately performed better. As it turned out later, it was a duel for first place in the tournament. Basketpoint also played an exciting game in its second Friday match, this time against the Slovak team ŠBK Galaxy Košice . After a bad start and a balanced course, it won the victory with an improved performance in the last quarter.

On Saturday, WKK led Zgorelc by several points for three quarters, but they could not manage the end of the match and lost by a single basket. The Ukrainian team also wanted to make a difference in the medal standings, first playing an even match with Basketpoint, which only won in the last quarter. Then on Sunday morning, they had a direct match for bronze medals with the Slovak team ŠBK Galaxy Košice . After losing the first quarter, Uzhorod took the initiative and slowly and patiently closed the gap on the Slovak team. After the third quarter, Uzhorod got an eight-point lead, which they did not let go, and thus won the bronze medals. In the other matches on Sunday's program, Poděbrady confirmed their gold medal win over Zgorelc, and Basketpoint confirmed their silver medal win thanks to their win over the home team WKK.

BC Swiss Krono Žary wins U13 tournament

The sixth U13 tournament took place in the Polish city of Żary. The home team made full use of their local knowledge and won gold medals at the tournament. The tournament was characterized by low final scores, so it could be said that defenses prevailed over offenses.

The first match traditionally featured the home team BC Swiss Krono Žary and their first opponent in the tournament was the Austrian team Vienna Timberwolves . The home team slightly overslept entering the match and Vienna took the lead. However, from the beginning of the second quarter the home team switched to a higher gear and eventually won by a margin of less than twenty points. The next two matches offered a national derby, the first was the Polish one between the newcomer to the CEYBL tournaments, GEN Gaz Energia Tarnovia Tarnowo Podgórne team, and the traditional participant SKM Zastal Zielona Góra . Tarnovia Zastal did not spare any effort and won by a margin of more than thirty points. The third match was the Czech derby between the teams BK Lokomotiva Plzeň and BA Sparta Praha . Lokomotiva apparently took on "wet coals" because its performance did not burn with a bright flame, but even with thirty-eight points scored, it managed to win the match. Sparta scored only twenty-one points in the entire match. Tarnovia thoroughly tested the home club in the next match. In the end, it wasn't enough to win.

On Saturday before noon, Sparta literally squeezed out a win over Zastal by just one point. In the afternoon block, Tarnovia came to the fore again, outpacing Lokomotiv. The latter switched to a higher gear than on Friday, probably from steam to electric power, and "overtook" Tarnovia by just four points.

On Sunday, Lokomotiva, well-initiated, went to the match against the Vienna team to confirm their silver medal win. Tarnovia did not give Sparta a chance to think about trying to win bronze and won by a difference of twenty-two points. And finally, the home team confirmed their gold medal win with a win over Zastal.
